Welcome to Histeeria. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Histeeria website, mobile application, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Our Philosophy & Agreement

Histeeria is designed as a privacy-first, zero-knowledge social platform. We prioritize your data sovereignty. However, to maintain a safe and functioning community, we must establish ground rules. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access the Service.

2. User Accounts

2.1 Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your private keys which are stored locally on your device.

2.2 Security

You acknowledge that Histeeria employs end-to-end encryption (E2EE). If you lose your private key or recovery phrase, Histeeria cannot recover your encrypted data. You account security effectively rests in your hands.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations.
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm another person.
  • Spam or engage in automated interactions tailored to manipulate feed algorithms.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer the Service or bypass our security measures.

4. Content Ownership & License

4.1 Your Content

You retain full ownership of the content you post ("User Content"). By posting content, you grant Histeeria a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license solely to display, transmit, and store your content effectively to provide the Service to you and other users.

4.2 Censorship Resistance

Due to our E2EE architecture, Histeeria cannot view or moderate private message content. Public content (feed posts) is subject to community guidelines, but we aim to minimize editorial interference.

5. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, particularly regarding abusive behavior or illegal activities. You may delete your account at any time via the Settings menu.

6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. Histeeria disclaims all liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Histeeria is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
